A little Journey..
I’ve always been in awe of nature and I firmly believe that what we need to heal lies right here in the natural world, if we only took the time to learn. My dabbling in natural therapies began over a decade ago and I guess it’s been an ongoing process of natural evolution… or an organic process (pun intended!)
Going down the conventional path was never really going to be on the cards for me – because I’ve never really had a conventional life! Moving/Travelling has long been a feature… from growing up in South Africa to the UK, Australia and everywhere in-between, it seems! In all honesty I pray that my gypsy days are behind me! But regardless, I count my blessings and I’m eternally grateful for the gift and privilege to have experienced such diversity (of cultures, traditions, landscapes, people, plants, foods and other natural wonders of our world). Incredible memories and lessons have been collected along the way.
Now that these feet are firmly back on English soil, I’m looking forward to putting down roots… in beautiful, wild Cornwall. From here, I’d love to share all I’ve picked up on my journeys, explore some new coastal gems and generally live a more chilled existence – less planes/trains/automobiles!
What I also want to stress is that you needn’t go to the far corners of this earth to find magic, for treasures lie in your very own backyards and even in the kitchen… Start by focusing on what is growing naturally in your patch of this world. Local food/medicine is a passion of mine, so much magic lies right under your feet, starting with those plants we so often dismiss as ‘weeds’ !! Herbalists in your area will gladly introduce you
Pineapple Sage & the Hummingbird
The Hummingbird: A sacred symbol of healing, spirituality, vitality and regeneration
Pineapple Sage (as the herb) happens to be one of the hummingbird’s favourite nectar plants & rightly so, as also one of my favourites in cocktails 😉 But bevvies aside, I guess at the heart of all this is the natural world and recognising the sacredness of nature. Simply reconnecting with the natural world is a great healer in itself and whilst I wouldn’t say I’m religious, nature is my absolute religion! Not only do I feel honoured to share what I know, I’m also a big believer that we should respect-protect-nurture this planet: our home! If nothing else, I hope you take away something of value from this website and that it plants some seeds of inspiration…
