Well I’m revelling in all the discoveries of my new home and this is a kind of housewarming present – I suppose a thank you to Cornwall! I’ve been scouring the peninsula for quality local fayre, starting with a few Farmers Markets… The days/times may change from season to season so be sure to double check before you turn up. Also note that this isn’t a full listing, check out the websites below for a thorough overview, including the many village markets out there.

Bodmin

Bodmin Market. Held at Bodmin Nursery, Laveddon Mill. 3rd Saturday of the month from 10am-2pm

Bude

Bude Farmer and Craft Market. Location is 41 Kings Hill, Bude EX23 8LG. Every Friday 10am-3pm but note that this is a seasonal market only running from Good Friday until the end of September.

Camborne

Camborne Produce Market. Located in Commercial Square, Trelowarren Street, Camborne. Every Friday from 9am to 3pm. Camborne, like Falmouth is a ‘Fairtrade Town’ so much of the produce is naturally Fairtrade.

Helston

Helston Farmers’ Market. Runs 9.30am to 1.30pm on the first Saturday of the month at The Old Cattle Market, Boating Lake, Helston. Get there early – it’s popular. One of the largest markets in Cornwall, there are over 40 stalls selling local seasonal produce.

Helston Country Market. The Guildhall, every Friday From 8am to1pm.

Launceston

Launceston Market. Every Friday 9.30-2pm in St Mary’s Hall, Launceston.

Launceston Butter Market. The Town Square, Launceston on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month – except for January and February, when markets are suspended (likely due to the Cornish mizzle!)

Liskeard

Liskeard Farmers’ Market. Mole Valley Farmers. Every other Friday (second and fourth Fridays each month) from 10am till 12pm. At Mole Valley Farmers, Moorswater Industrial Estate, Liskeard.

Liskeard Country Market. Every Friday 8.30am – 11.30am in the Public Hall, Liskeard.

Lostwithiel

Lostwithiel Local Produce Market. In the Scout Hut, Old Cattle Market carpark on the 4th Saturday of every month. All goods are produced seasonally within a 35mil radius and sold directly by the producers.

Paul

Paul Farmers’ Market near Penzance. Every Wednesday from 10am-12pm. Located in the Village Hall, Paul, Penzance TR19 6UG.

Pendeen

Pendeen Farmers’ Market (near St Just). First and Third Saturday of each month from 10am to 1pm. Located at 7 Church Rd, Pendeen, Penzance TR19 7SE. Run by volunteers from the local community. A wide range of local goods, including Organic produce from Bosavern Community Farm.

Penzance

Penzance Country Market. Every Thursday from 8.30am to 12.30pm. St John’s Hall, Alverton Rd, Penzance TR18 2QW. They have their own website! http://www.penzancecountrymarket.co.uk/

Penzance Farmers’ Market. Every Friday 9am-1pm. Located in St Johns Hall, Alverton Street, Penzance, TR18 2QR.

Perranporth

Perranporth Country Market Every Friday from 10am till 12pm. Memorial Hall, Perranporth

Redruth

Redruth Country Market. Saturdays 10am till 2pm. On… the aptly named Market strand, Market way.

Sennen

Sennen Farmers Market. Every Tuesday from 9am till 12pm at Sennen Community Centre 9-12.

St Austell

St Austell Local Produce Market. Every Saturday from 9.30am till 3.30pm in Alymer Square. Market House. May run on a Friday too?  Lively market with entertainment.

St Erth

St Erth Farmers’ Market (near Hayle). Every Saturday from 10am till 12pm in St Erth Methodist Chapel, St Erth TR27 6HL.

St Ives

St Ives Farmers Market. Every Thursday from 9.30am till 2pm at The Guildhall, Street an Pol, St Ives, next door to the Visitor Info Centre. All food sourced within a 30mile radius.

St Levan

St Levan Farmers market every Monday. Near Porthcurno, Land’s End.

St Neot

St Neot Farmers’ Market (near Bodmin/Liskeard) on the First Saturday of every month from 9am -12pm in the Village Hall.

Truro

Truro Farmers Market. Every Wednesday and Saturday from 9am-3.30pm. A regular weekly market on Lemon Quay. Truro Farmers Market is also held in Falmouth at The Moor every Tuesday.

Wadebridge

Wadebridge Country Market. Every Thursday from 8.45am – 12.30pm in the Town Hall, The Platt.
